Mr. Ajit Gulabchand

Chairman, Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd.

Mr. Ajit Gulabchand is the Chairman of the Board of Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC). He served as Chairman & Managing Director of HCC for the past four decades till 2023.

During this tenure, he transformed the company from a construction major into a diversified infrastructure group of a global scale, developing and building responsible infrastructure through the next practices. Alongside his responsibilities at HCC, Mr. Gulabchand has been a vocal advocate of sustainable development and is regarded as a spokesperson for India's infrastructure sector in global forums.

Under Mr. Gulabchand's leadership, HCC continues the illustrious tradition set by his predecessors. The group has a knowledge asset of more than 1,700 officers, including around 1,100 engineers. In addition, it employs about 13,000 workers at its project sites across India. The result is a business that plays a leading role in Meeting the massive infrastructure needs of India, leveraging best-in-class equipment and technology, knowledge-driven processes and innovation-led next practices.

Being a Founder member, Mr. Gulabchand during his invaluable contribution for CFI over the past 24 years has reshaped the trajectory of CFI with enduring dedication.

He is also a Member of CII National Council, Past Chairman of CII Task Force on Public Private Partnership in Infrastructure, Member of Governor's Steering Board of the Infrastructure and Urban Development (IU) Community at the World Economic Forum (WEF), Member of UK India Business Council (UKIBC) Advisory Council and Past Chairman of the Governing Council of the Construction Skills Development Council of India (CSDCI).

Dr. A. Ramakrishna, Dy

Deputy Managing Director, L&T

Dr. Ramakrishna started his career in 1962 with Engineering Construction Corporation Limited (ECC), then a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T. ECC was subsequently amalgamated with the parent company and is now widely known as ECC Construction Division. In 1966, he was sponsored by the Government of India for training in Structural Engineering in Germany. His specialized knowledge in structural engineering - precast and prestressed concrete and industrialized methods of construction - is widely recognized.

He was conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science by the Andhra University in 1997 and an honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in 2004. After serving in various capacities, he was inducted into the Board of Directors of L&T in 1992, and was designated President (Operations) of ECC Construction Division in 1995. He was designated Deputy Managing Director in March 2000. Under his leadership, revenues of ECC Division have grown manifold - from Rs. 4,500 million in 1992 to over Rs. 55,000 million in 2004, which constitutes approximately 40% of the Company's overall business volume.

Dr. Ramakrishna was also associated with many International and national bodies like American Society of Concrete Contractors, American Society of Civil Engineers, International Federation for Structural Concrete and Institution of Engineers (India). He played an important role in founding of Industry associations such as Indian Concrete Institute, Construction Industry Development Council, National Academy of Construction, Construction Federation of India (CFI) etc.

Dr. Anumolu Ramakrishna, Dy. Managing Director, after 42 eventful years retired from the services of L&T on December 31, 2004.

Mr. Abhijit Rajan

Chairman & Managing Director, Gammon India Ltd.

Mr. Rajan was appointed as the Managing Director of the Company in 1991. He took over as the Chairman of the Company in 1996 and since then has been the Chairman and Managing Director of the Company. The Gammon Group of companies, HQ Mumbai, had a large presence in construction, infrastructure, power & realty in 19 countries for 100 years.

He has over 30 years of experience in strategic planning and management and in the construction industry. As an industrialist, he has built his reputation on the basis of good stewardship of the Gammon Group. Under his leadership and guidance, the Company has taken great strides in terms of turnover, profits and performance. His dynamic vision, strategic focus, and entrepreneurial skills continue to guide the growth of the Company's businesses across demanding markets and competitive scenarios.

Along with CFI, Mr. Rajan is also Member of Board of Governors in NICMAR and as office bearer in various other industry bodies.

Mr. Amitabh Mundhra

Director, Simplex Infrastructure Ltd.

Mr. Mundhra was the Vice Chairman of Simplex Infrastructures Ltd. and served as a Whole Time Director of Simplex Infrastructures Ltd. from August 14,1995 to February 28, 2014. Mr Mundhra currently serves as a full-time Director at JMS Mining Pvt. Ltd. and Independent Director in Tips Industries Ltd.

Being a Founder Member of CFI and his active participation in various industry organizations such as NICMAR, BAI, CII, CIDC, Mr. Mundhra had diverse responsibilities encompassing business development on both domestic & international fronts and had extensive expertise in overseeing project execution.

Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Mundhra is deeply invested in skill development and education initiatives. He extends his influence on various Trusts and Institutions, where he actively promotes music, art, and cultural activities. His influence also extends to several boards of companies within the infrastructure, mining, and related industries.

Late Mr. Cyrus Mistry

Ex - Managing Director, Shapoorji Pallonji Group

Late Mr. Cyrus Mistry had joined the family construction company, Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd as a director in 1991. Mr. Mistry had been managing director of Shapoorji Pallonji & Company, which is part of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, and also chairman of Tata Sons and the Tata Group.

During Mr. Cyrus Mistry's two decades at the helm of Shapoorji Pallonji & Co., Shapoorji Pallonji's construction business grew into a billion-dollar enterprise and company continued its expansion beyond traditional construction to large engineering projects, evolving from pure-play construction to execution of complex projects in the marine, oil and gas and rail sectors, power projects across a number of international geographies.

He had joined the Board of Tata Sons Limited in 2006 and was appointed Chairman of its Board in December 2012. In addition, he was also chairman of all major Tata companies including Tata Industries, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Power Ltd., Tata Teleservices Ltd., Indian Hotels, Tata Global Beverages and Tata Chemicals.

He had also served as a director on the board of several other companies including Afcons Infrastructure, Forbes Gokak. He was the Board member of Imperial College India Foundation and one of the Founder Members of CFI, prior to his sudden demise in 2022.
